Seven people lost their lives in a tragic road accident near Katumba trading centre on the Garissa-Mwingi road.
The fatal incident occurred when a bus, ferrying 50 passengers from Garissa to Nairobi, collided with a stalled trailer.
According to a police report, the accident unfolded as the bus driver attempted to overtake an unknown motor vehicle that did not yield. Forced to return to his lane, the driver unfortunately rammed into a trailer that had stalled on the road due to a mechanical breakdown.
“As a result of the accident, 7 people have been confirmed dead while several others have been evacuated to various hospitals,” read part of the police report.
In another separate incident On Thursday, five people were killed in a road accident involving a personal car and a trailer in Murang’a, Kenya.
The accident occurred on the Kenol-Sagana highway in Murang’a, Kenya, involving a personal car and a trailer.
Five people were killed in the crash. According to the police, the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the accident was driving under the influence.
The deceased were travelling from Nairobi to Kenol when the tragedy happened.
