The viral sensation of the ‘Anguka Nayo’ challenge has transcended borders and reached the heart of Hollywood, thanks to US-based Kenyan model and entrepreneur Rachel Mbuki.
Mbuki, a former Miss Universe contestant and founder of the entertainment outlet Xtra Access, introduced the slogan and dance to some of America’s biggest TV stars during the NBC Sumner Press Tour red carpet event.
On Sunday, Mbuki led a joyful celebration as multiple Hollywood celebrities enthusiastically participated in the ‘Anguka Nayo’ challenge, sending shout-outs to Kenya and showcasing their support for the East African nation.
Renowned names including Reba McEntire, Kelli Williams, Bellisa Escobedo, and Shanola Hampton embraced the challenge, with varying degrees of proficiency in both pronunciation and dance moves.
Despite some struggling with the pronunciation, their enthusiasm was evident as they joined Mbuki in spreading love and positivity towards Kenya.
“We love you Kenya! We love you so much Kenya! Keep doing what you’re doing,” exclaimed Khayun Kim, star of NBC’s ‘St. Denis Medical’.
Actress Wendi McLendon, known for her work in ‘Night Court’, conveyed heartfelt sentiments, stating, “Kenya, my heart is with you. Your generation is gonna save us from ourselves. You guys and this generation, you’re gonna be the ones to keep the planet spinning. Anguka Nayo!”
