A solemn requiem mass was held today in honor of Justice David Majanja, a respected figure in the Kenyan judiciary. The ceremony, attended by family, friends, colleagues, and dignitaries, took place at the Holy Family Basilica in Nairobi.

Justice Majanja, who passed away last week, was known for his significant contributions to the legal field and his unwavering commitment to justice. Throughout his career, he presided over numerous high-profile cases and was instrumental in shaping the legal landscape of Kenya. His dedication to upholding the rule of law earned him respect and admiration from both his peers and the public.

The mass was led by Archbishop John Cardinal Njue, who spoke about Justice Majanja’s legacy and his impact on the judiciary. He praised the late judge for his integrity, fairness, and dedication to serving the people of Kenya. “Justice Majanja’s work in the judiciary was marked by a deep sense of justice and a commitment to the truth. He will be remembered as a pillar of integrity and a champion of the rule of law,” said Cardinal Njue.

Several prominent figures delivered eulogies, reflecting on their personal and professional experiences with Justice Majanja. Chief Justice Martha Koome highlighted his contributions to judicial reforms and his role in mentoring young lawyers. “Justice Majanja was not only a colleague but a mentor and a friend. His wisdom and guidance have left an indelible mark on many of us,” she remarked.

Family members expressed their grief and gratitude for the support they have received during this difficult time. His wife, Mary Majanja, spoke of his love for family and his passion for justice. “David was a loving husband and father, and his dedication to justice was evident in every aspect of his life. We are comforted by the outpouring of love and support from all who knew him.”

As the nation mourns the loss of Justice David Majanja, his legacy will continue to inspire and guide the Kenyan judiciary. The requiem mass was a poignant reminder of the profound impact he had on the legal community and the country as a whole.
