Two people have been killed and others seriously injured in a tragic accident along the Southern Bypass near Ole Sereni Hotel, Nairobi County.
The fatal collision occurred at 6:30 am on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, when two trailers collided head-on.
National Police Service Spokesperson Resila Onyango confirmed the incident, stating that the driver of an Isuzu FRR, registration number KCX 282N, lost control while driving from the Kikuyu direction and collided with an oncoming trailer.
The two drivers died on the spot, with one of the trailers catching fire and the driver being burned beyond recognition.
Three other passengers from the vehicles sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital for further treatment.
According to updates posted on the Kenya Red Cross official X account, the injured passengers received timely assistance from a multi-agency response team.
