During the Jamhuri Day celebrations at Engineer Stadium in Nyandarua County, residents disrupted the event by walking out as County Commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa began reading President William Ruto’s speech.
Despite Governor Kiarie Badilisha’s appeal for calm, the crowd expressed dissatisfaction with the current administration, citing unfulfilled promises.
Some attendees chanted anti-government slogans, with one resident stating, “We are done with Ruto; he betrayed us.”
This incident reflects growing public frustration in certain regions over unmet expectations and perceived governmental shortcomings.
Similar disruptions occurred in other counties, such as Migori, where residents also protested during the reading of the President’s speech.
These events underscore the importance of addressing public grievances and fulfilling governmental commitments to maintain trust and order during national occasions.
At the Jamhuri celebrations in Nyandarua, the residents have walked out & told the County Commissioner to go & read Ruto's speech to Nyúkwa or give it to his cows like Ichung'wah & Ndīi to chew so that they can continue farting out more nonsense before they are vaccinated 😂. pic.twitter.com/QDntcMc5wT
