In a significant event this morning, President William Ruto presided over the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed cabinet secretaries at State House.

The ceremony marked a pivotal moment as the new officials took their oaths of office, officially assuming their roles within the government.

Here’s the list of Cabinet Secretaries who were sworn in;

  • Interior and National Administration: Kithure Kindiki
  • Defence: Soipan Tuya
  • National Treasury: John Mbadi
  • Public Service: Justin Muturi
  • Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry: Aden Duale
  • Lands: Alice Wahome
  • Education: Julius Ogamba
  • Transport: Davis Chirchir
  • Tourism and Wildlife: Rebecca Miano
  • Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs: Hassan Joho
  • Labour and Social Protection: Alfred Mutua
  • Water and Sanitation: Eric Muuga
  • Investment, Trade, and Industry: Salim Mvurya
  • Health: Debra Barasa
  • Youth Affairs and Sports: Kipchumba Murkomen

Outside the venue, a notable scene unfolded as officials diligently affixed official flags to the newly assigned vehicles of the cabinet members.

The flags, a symbol of their new roles, are in accordance with the National Flag, Emblems and Names (Amendment) Act 2014.

This Act stipulates that only high-ranking state officers, including the President, Deputy President, Chief Justice, and the speakers of the National Assembly and Senate, are permitted to fly the flag.
