Renowned BongoFlava artist Mandojo, a prominent member of the legendary Mandojo Group, has tragically passed away in Dodoma.
The musician, known for hits such as “Give Me,” “Wanok Nok,” and “Dingi,” was reportedly killed after being mistaken for a thief on August 11 2024.
According to initial reports, Mandojo was attacked and beaten to death by local residents following a misunderstanding.
The incident occurred when a dispute led someone to falsely accuse him of theft.
Fellow musicians and friends have expressed their grief over the loss. Anselm Tryphone, better known as SoggyDoggy, took to social media to pay tribute:
“My heart is in great pain, I will miss you very much my brother and my friend. Rest in peace Mandojo, surely human life on this earth is very short. Sorry brothers, relatives and friends and I’m very sorry my brother @domokayatz God’s work has no mistakes 🙏🙏🙏.”
Domokaya, Mandojo’s longtime collaborator, also shared his sorrow:
“Daaaah MY SON I don’t believe the 22nd of this month is supposed to be your birthday Aisee why! !! This is so sad Rest in peace my brother 🙏 May God give you eternal light friend, brother.”
The circumstances surrounding Mandojo’s death have shocked fans and the music community alike, leading to an outpouring of condolences and tributes from across the industry.
