Embattled United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malalah has accused two senior party officials of orchestrating plans to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Malalah claims that these officials aim to remove Gachagua to strategically position themselves for future political gains amid emerging re-alignments.
Speaking out publicly, Malalah alleged that the two officials have been involved in a series of unethical activities aimed at undermining his position and destabilizing the party.
“This is just one of the 18 reasons these officials want me out,” Malalah stated.
“I will reveal the remaining 17 reasons in due course, including detailed documentary evidence of their efforts to defraud the party. They have been involved in falsifying party meeting minutes, forging signatures, and attempting to access the party’s bank accounts.”
Malalah refuted claims that his ouster was due to incompetence or mismanagement of the UDA party.
Instead, he described his removal as part of a “well-choreographed script” intended to pave the way for Gachagua’s impeachment.
He emphasized that the alleged coup was executed by senior officials who should have upheld the party’s constitution.
The Secretary General asserted that his removal was both unlawful and unfair.
“There were no formal charges against me, nor was I given a chance to defend myself, as required by law and natural justice,” he said.
Malalah has filed a petition challenging his removal with the party’s Internal Disputes Resolution Committee (IDRC).
He confirmed his willingness to participate in hearings and present his case.
