A recent video has resurfaced showing the 2020 shooting incident involving Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and DJ Evolve (Felix Orinda).
The incident occurred at a popular club in Nairobi, where DJ Evolve sustained serious injuries after being shot in the neck.
The video reignited discussions around the case, which has been ongoing for four years.
At the time of the shooting, Babu Owino was arrested and charged with attempted murder. However, in 2021, DJ Evolve applied to withdraw the charges against Owino.
As part of a private settlement, Owino agreed to cover DJ Evolve’s medical expenses, support his family, and provide him with a house.

Despite the settlement, the legal proceedings had raised questions, with a firearms expert testifying that it was difficult to conclusively determine whether the bullet that injured DJ Evolve was fired from Owino’s gun.
The expert mentioned that foreign markings on the bullet suggested it might have passed through a hard surface, further complicating the investigation.
Although the case drew significant public attention, Owino maintained his innocence, stating that he was a close friend of DJ Evolve and had no intent to harm him.
DJ Evolve’s injuries required months of medical care and rehabilitation, and the case has left a lasting impact on both their lives.
