Fabian Kaburu’s story is one of resilience and determination, showcasing how far hard work and perseverance can take someone. Born in a humble background, Kaburu had to drop out of high school in 2001 due to financial difficulties, despite being a top student in his class.
After moving to Nairobi in search of better opportunities, he worked various odd jobs, including as a shamba boy, before landing a security guard position. During his time as a guard, Kaburu made the bold decision to return to school and complete his secondary education as a private candidate in 2016.
By 2017, Kaburu was enrolled at Meru University, where he pursued a Bachelor of Education in Science. Throughout his university years, he balanced working as a night watchman and attending classes during the day. His dedication paid off, and in 2022, Kaburu graduated with a Second Class Honors degree.
Despite his academic achievements, Kaburu has continued to work as a security guard to pay off his accumulated university fees and support his family.
