Dennis Itumbi, a close ally of President William Ruto, has addressed the circulating rumors about an alleged altercation between Farouk Kibet, Ruto’s aide, and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.
Reports claimed that Farouk slapped Kindiki after a disagreement, fueling speculation of tension within the Kenya Kwanza government.
It was also reported that Kindiki skipped Ruto’s New Year State Dinner in Kisii, which added to the rumors.
However, Itumbi has dismissed these claims, stating that there is no fallout between the President and his Deputy. He emphasized that both are focused on implementing their plans for the country.
Itumbi responded to the rumors on social media, saying, “There is no truth to the claims that DP Kindiki was slapped by Farouk.
These are lies. There is no fallout. The President and his Deputy are committed to their work for Kenyans. This year, their projects will speak for themselves. In 2025, we’ll expose these lies.”
The reason behind Kindiki’s absence from the New Year event in Kisii remains unclear, which has led to further speculation. Neither the Deputy President’s office nor State House has commented on the matter.
In response to the rumors, Kindiki also shared a message on social media, wishing Kenyans a prosperous 2025.
He urged citizens to focus on building a better future for the country. “The start of the year is a chance to refocus on Project Kenya.
Now is the time for everyone to work toward a better and more unified nation,” he said. Kindiki avoided addressing the rumors, instead stressing the importance of striving for a society free from fear and poverty.
