Two well-known auction firms, S.K. Dhahabu Motors Limited and Windsor House Auctioneers, have officially announced their intention to auction off 16 vehicles and several motorcycles if their owners do not come forward within the next 30 days.
In a gazette notice published on Friday, May 12, S.K. Dhahabu Motors revealed that it will dispose of four motor vehicles currently held at its storage yard.
The company explained that the vehicles will be sold either through public auction or private sale if the rightful owners fail to collect them within the given period.
The company further stated that the owners must settle all pending storage fees and other related charges before they can retrieve their vehicles.
“NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to Section 5 of the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38), Laws of Kenya, to the owners of the said motor vehicles.
The vehicles have been kept at S.K. Dhahabu Motors Limited and must be collected within 30 days from the date of this publication.
Collection will only be allowed after the full payment of storage fees and any incidental costs, including the cost of publishing this notice,” the announcement read.
At the same time, Windsor House Auctioneers also issued a similar notice stating that it will auction off six vehicles and six motorcycles currently being held at the Isinya Police Station if they remain unclaimed 30 days from the notice date.
The list of vehicles up for disposal includes a Toyota Starlet, a white minibus, a black Toyota Sienta, a white Mazda Demio, and a black Peugeot.
The motorcycles include a blue Piaggio Tuktuk, a red Captain, a red Boxer, a blue Boxer, a red Shinery, and a green Shinery.
Vehicle and motorcycle owners have been strongly advised to settle any outstanding charges if they wish to reclaim their property. If they fail to do so, the items will be auctioned as planned.
“NOTICE is issued in line with the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38) of the Laws of Kenya and is backed by an order issued under Miscellaneous Application Case No. E169 of 2025 at the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Kajiado.
All owners of vehicles, motorcycles, and any other items currently stored at Isinya Police Station are requested to collect their properties after clearing the costs related to this publication,” Windsor House Auctioneers stated in their official notice.
This development follows another announcement made just days earlier by seven other companies based in various counties including Nairobi, Kitui, and Kilifi.
In a gazette notice published on May 2, these companies declared their intention to auction off over 100 vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, and spare parts.
Among the auctioneers involved in that earlier announcement were Wamua Auctioneers, A-Plus Auto Garage Limited, Matrac Kenya Limited, Windsor House Auctioneers, Petfriend, Garam Investments, and Star Gold Enterprises.
They noted that the disposal of these uncollected items would happen within 30 days from the date of publication, either through public auction or private treaty.
Owners of the listed items were once again reminded to clear all outstanding charges if they want to retrieve their property before the auction takes place.
Failure to comply within the given timeframe would lead to the permanent disposal of the items through sale.
