Kenya Airways Lowers Ticket Prices for 16 Routes

Kenya Airways (KQ) has announced a major drop in airfares, giving travelers a chance to enjoy discounted flights on both local and international routes.

In a statement released on Wednesday, July 2, the national airline revealed that it is offering a 20% discount on tickets to 13 popular African cities.

At the same time, travelers flying within Kenya can enjoy a 15% discount on flights to Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu.

“Get 20% off selected destinations—whether you’re dreaming of calm beaches or the exciting energy of a busy city. Picture trading your daily routine for the peaceful sound of waves or stunning rooftop views, and all this while spending less.

Don’t wait—book your flight now and let your adventure take off,” the airline shared in its promotional message.

The discounted international destinations include Zambia, Abidjan, Kinshasa, Kigali, Maputo, Addis Ababa, Lubumbashi (in the DRC), Seychelles, Comoros, Antananarivo, Bujumbura, Entebbe, and Kilimanjaro. These special fares will be available from July 2 to September 28, 2025.

KQ also confirmed that the 15% discount on domestic flights to the cities of Mombasa, Nairobi, and Kisumu will be available throughout the same period.

To take advantage of the offer, Kenya Airways encouraged customers to act quickly during its “24-Hour Mid-Year Sale,” describing it as an exceptional, limited-time deal.

“Feeling stuck in the middle of the year? It’s time to refresh your spirit and break away from routine. For just one day, you can enjoy some of the best prices on flights to your favorite destinations. So, ready, set, book!” KQ stated.

To enjoy the discounts, passengers must use the promo code ‘HOTDEAL’ when booking their tickets.

However, the airline pointed out that some fare classes are not eligible for this offer. Specifically, the “Best Buy Economy” and “Business Lite” ticket options are excluded from the discount.

Also, travelers should note that the fare reductions apply only to the net cost of the ticket. This means that taxes, fees, and any extra charges will still apply and must be paid separately.

The discounted rates are valid for both one-way and round-trip flights, but only for flights operated exclusively by Kenya Airways.

Additionally, if a customer decides to make changes to their ticket that fall outside the airline’s standard change policies, they will be required to pay penalties, any applicable fare differences, and extra change fees as per the airline’s rules.

This offer presents a great opportunity for passengers looking to travel affordably during the mid-year season, both within Kenya and across select African destinations.
