Equity Bank has officially informed its customers that several of its digital banking services are currently experiencing interruptions. The affected platforms include the Equity Mobile App, online banking website, *247# USSD service, and the EazzyBiz portal used by business clients.

In a service alert issued on Friday, July 11, the bank explained that the disruption is temporary and assured customers that its technical team is actively working to restore normal operations as quickly as possible. The bank expressed its appreciation for customers’ understanding during the outage.

“Dear Member, we are currently facing intermittent service downtime across our digital banking platforms,” the notice stated.
“Our technical team is working hard to resolve the issue as soon as possible. We sincerely thank you for your patience during this time.”

Equity Bank also apologized for the inconvenience caused and reassured customers of its commitment to restore services promptly. In the meantime, the bank urged customers to be on high alert against fraud attempts, especially during the ongoing downtime.

To prevent fraud, the bank reminded customers that Equity only contacts them through one official number—0763 000 000—and warned against responding to suspicious calls or messages asking for personal or banking information.

“Please be cautious and do not respond to any phone calls or SMS requesting your banking details. Equity will never ask for your PIN, password, card number, OTP, or any other sensitive banking information,” the advisory stressed.

Customers were also encouraged to stay updated by checking Equity Bank’s official website and verified social media platforms for accurate information and the expected timelines for service resumption.

In the meantime, the bank recommended alternative ways for customers to access their funds and carry out urgent transactions. These include visiting any of Equity’s Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), using authorized Equity agents, or walking into the nearest Equity Bank branch.

The bank reiterated its commitment to delivering reliable digital services and thanked customers for their continued support and patience as efforts to fix the issue continue.
