The government, through the Social Health Authority (SHA), has launched a large-scale recruitment drive, announcing 64 job vacancies in a bid to strengthen its operations and support the full rollout of its programs across the country.
The positions are part of a broader effort to ensure the Authority effectively fulfills its healthcare mandate nationwide.
In a public notice released on Tuesday, July 29, SHA revealed that it is looking to hire directors in multiple departments, including Beneficiary Management, Benefits and Claims Management, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Additional vacancies are available in key areas such as Finance and Accounts, Funds Management, Supply Chain Management, Registration and Compliance, Claims Handling, and Benefits Management.
The Authority also seeks qualified professionals to head units in Provider Management, Planning and Linkages, County Coordination, Human Resources, Customer Experience, and Internal Audit.
To be considered for any of these senior roles, applicants must meet the ethical standards outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya. This includes presenting valid and up-to-date clearance documents such as:
- Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
- Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
- Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Clearance
- Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) Report
Applicants are also required to submit a detailed curriculum vitae, academic and professional certificates, and a cover letter explaining their qualifications and suitability for the position.
SHA indicated that interested candidates can apply online through the official recruitment portal at recruitment.sha.go.ke or submit physical applications by delivering them to the 10th Floor of the SHA Building. Each envelope must clearly indicate the specific job title being applied for.
Successful applicants will receive competitive salaries and benefits, aligned with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) guidelines. SHA emphasized its commitment to fair employment practices and diversity, stating, “We are an equal opportunity employer dedicated to promoting gender balance and inclusivity.”
The Authority warned that canvassing or attempting to influence the selection process in any way would result in automatic disqualification. Only candidates who are shortlisted will be contacted for further steps.
The application window remains open for three weeks, with the deadline set for August 19, 2025. Kenyans across the country are encouraged to seize this opportunity and submit their applications before the closing date.
