Patrick Osoi Issues Defiant Statement After Release: “Sisi Siyo Militia, Lakini Tutatoa Ruto”
Members of the Fighting Brutality and Impunity (FBI) group, led by former KDF officer Patrick Osoi, issued a bold statement immediately after being released from police custody, declaring:
“Sisi siyo militia, lakini tutatoa Ruto.”
(We are not a militia, but we will remove Ruto.)
The remarks were made shortly after Osoi and his colleagues were freed on bond following their recent arrest on accusations of possessing firearms illegally, planning to commit a felony, and allegedly recruiting former soldiers for a possible armed movement.
Addressing journalists and supporters outside the court, Osoi said the group is not a criminal gang, but a movement formed to fight against what he called “state brutality and impunity.”
He said Kenyans are suffering and President William Ruto must be removed from power through a people-led revolution if the government continues ignoring their pain.
Despite police warnings, Osoi insisted that their struggle will continue. He stated that they are former security officers who are ready to stand with oppressed citizens.
Security agencies have taken note of the statement and warned that such declarations could amount to incitement. The DCI is still investigating the group’s activities, even after their release, and the Anti-Terror Police Unit continues to track their communications and movements.
Police say that although they were freed on bond, they remain prime suspects in an ongoing probe linking them to possible organized mobilization against the state.
Kenyans online have reacted sharply to the statement. Some are supporting Osoi, praising him for speaking out against suffering and high cost of living. Others fear his words could stir violence or create unrest in the country if not controlled.
