THE KAMITI PRISON BREAK !!!! How 3 Terrorists escaped from the East Africa’s Most Secured Prison

As pres Uhuru announced the lifting of the night to dawn curfew on Mashujaa day 2021, he probably thought he was only freeing Kenyans unbeknownst to him, this announcement was the last piece of the puzzle that was remaining to actualize a plan that had been on the works for months behind the 10ft Wall that secures Kamiti Prison.

The plan, to Escape the Prison and the masterminds were holed up in Cell no.6 in condemn Block A The 3 of them, Musharaf Abdalla, Juma Otieno, and Abikar were convicted terrorists serving 10+ yr jailterms.

Musharaf Abdalla & Yassin, certified Al Shabaab militants, had been cooling his heels in Kamiti since 2017 for pulling up at Parliament Buildings strapped ready to occupy the August House in 2012.

This had earned ’em 22yrs at Kamiti Max Where they were joined 2 years later by Mohammed Ali Abikar. Abikar had been served a whooping 41yrs for being in comms with the terrorists who brutally murdered 147 comrades at Garissa University College.

The 2 were later joined by Joseph Juma Odhiambo in 2020 after he was arrested in Mandera trying to enter Somalia via an undesignated border point without informing the Immigration office a crime that had earned the Mumias man 15yrs.

Despite the courts proving beyond reasonable doubt of their guilt, the 4 were not happy about their individual convictions mutually they all felt as if they were denied a fair hearing.

A feeling that saw them file appeals which left not only a bad taste in their mouth of how long judicial processes take in Kenya but also left the thought of escaping since they knew justice delayed is justice denied.

So with that in mind, the quadruplets fell into action. To be successful, they first needed to identify a warden whom they’d compromise.

So with the money Abikar could access from the outside world, they compromised Warden X, who was in charge prisoners who undertake routine maintenance jobs in the prison.

This warden was very important b/c he had access to the tools needed for the escape & would also be their financial link to the outside world.

Moreover, he also updated them on security arrangements & working shifts of officers at the prison..Information that helped them keep their actions under water during other shifts.

So after identifying him, they wrote a letter to prisons welfare complaining of the freezing cold in their cell, a complaint that was well received and acted upon by been granted extra blankets in the spirit of Prison reforms.

Unbeknownst to the officials , these blankets were to be used to make a ladder and rope that would be used to scale the 10ft Wall hiding them from Kenyans.

After getting the blankets, they paid Warden X to sneak these necessary tools to their cell during his shift Chisel, Blades, Scissors, Hooks, Bar of Soap, Rims of Paper and Brooms.

The chisel was for drilling a hole in their wall which was covered by a ream of paper that was exact color as their cellwall & was glued using soap.

The broomsticks were used to measure the wall height, in order to make a ladder & rope using blankets cut with scissors So when Warden X was on duty, the goons went to work.

During the day they’d dug a hole in their wall using the chisel snuck from maintenance prisoners by Warden X. At night they made the rope while praying everything goes right a routine that continued for a minute until everything was ready.

The only problem was the confidence to do it & the night curfew instituted by the Covid Rules so the goons had to wait until when it was lifted gladly on Mashujaa day, President Uhuru lifted the ban and solved their first problem.

The confidence problem was solved a week later after their fellow convict, Egilva Bwire was released from prison but mysteriously disappeared immediately after release. This abduction by ATPU confirmed to the terrorists that even if they served their full sentences, they’d not live to see a day in their free lives.

So with that in mind, the confidence needed for this brazen escape was boosted After scanning the security situation in Kamiti, the goons settled for Nov 15 as the perfect date.

Reason being, the officers who’d be in charge that day were not as hawk eyed as the rest, which provided the best gap b/c some CCTV cameras were broken with the date ready, they then arranged for transportation that would zoom them off the vicinity of the prison once they were out and gladly they got a Toyota Probox.

It would take them to Machakos where another car would move em to Somalia..So after been informed that the wardens in shift had passed through the canteen & downed some drinks, the goons made their move on Nov 15 2021.

At minutes past midnight, they pushed themselves through the hole in the cell which took em out of the main prison wall.

They then walked towards the staff quarters where they jumped over the wall leading to the quarters exiting the prison area Very fast they boarded the ProBox waiting for them & off they headed for Machakos where they arrived at 3:30am.

Sadly the car meant to pick them up at Machakos didn’t show up so they were forced to board a matatu to Kitui where they were arrested few kms away while walking by a man who miracoulsy saw them.

The 3 were ferried back to prison under heavy guard and charged for escaping. Funnily during their trial, they told the judge that Warden X was not among the warden charged with aiding their escape & also the tools he had given them had mysteriously been left out as evidence.
