Kericho – An attendant at a petrol station in Litein Town was left with an unsettled KSh 8,000 bill after a motorist he had served drove off without paying for fuel.

CCTV footage was shared of the attendant negotiating with the motorist inside a white Toyota Fielder before he sped off.

He was, however, determined to speed off, leaving the helpless staffer to run after the car.

Kericho: What the owner of the vehicle said

The case shared by Sikika Road Safety indicates the motorist bought fuel worth KSh 8,000 and only paid KSh 1 via M-Pesa before speeding off.

“Naphtaly Okode Ogolah driving KCZ 631E fueled ⛽ fuel worth 8,000 at Litein town and decided to pay only 1bob and spend off without paying,” Sikika Road Safety said.

The case was reported to the police under OB number; OB22/13/05/2024. However, the owner of the vehicle, identified as Naphtaly, reached out to Sikika Road Safety, saying his friend was the one driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.

“Mr Naphtaly has just reached out to us and explained the vehicle was with his friend during that incident, and they are working on how to resolve the issue and pay,” Sikika Road Safety said.
