Why Faith Musembi Was Killed: Fresh Details Emerge
Additional information has surfaced regarding the demise of 19-year-old Faith Musembi, discovered deceased in her leased residence in Pilot Estate, located in Thika, Sub-County, last week.
Authorities have reportedly detained a 25-year-old college student, considered the primary suspect in the case.
Initial inquiries suggested a significant relationship between the two individuals, involving intimacy.
Police state that the suspected perpetrator allegedly committed the act due to suspicions of Musembi’s infidelity.
When the victim died, authorities found that her placenta had detached, leading to significant bleeding.
The investigators are still determining if the suspect had doubts about being the father of the unborn child.
“We have the main suspect in custody and are conducting thorough investigations. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO) is on the matter and the suspect will be produced in court,” Thika Police Boss Lawrence Muchangi informed the press.
Last week, Faith’s father, Boniface Musembi, discovered her lifeless body in a rented room after she mysteriously vanished.
The perpetrator, who had abducted Faith, contacted her family demanding ransom.
Initially asking for Ksh27,000, they later increased the demand to Ksh60,000, insisting the family pay promptly if they cared for their daughter.
Despite seeking help from Thika West Police Station, Faith’s family was disheartened when officers dismissed their concerns, claiming there was no reason to worry.
“They (police officers) informed me that it could be a trick played by my daughter’s friends,” Boniface stated.
“We want the authorities to ensure that the person responsible for his heinous act is punished to the fullest extent of the law.”
