Authorities in Changamwe, Mombasa County, have launched a manhunt for a suspect accused of fatally stabbing his 24-year-old daughter on Saturday evening.
According to police reports, an altercation erupted between the man and his wife, but their daughter intervened to break up the fight. During the altercation, the man sustained multiple stab wounds to his stomach and chest.
Authorities are actively searching for Simon Mumbi, the man who fled the scene following the incident.
The incident occurred in the Mcheleni area around 5:00 pm.
Upon arrival at the scene, neighbors promptly transported the woman to Portreitz Hospital, where she received initial care. Subsequently, she was transferred to Coast General Hospital, where her condition deteriorated, ultimately resulting in her passing during treatment.
The body of the daughter is currently being held at the mortuary of Coast General Hospital.
In another turn of events, a young man who had gone into hiding after stabbing his mother to death over Ksh 500, has been killed by angry villagers.
The incident occurred within Omogwa village, situated in Kemera location within Nyamira county.
Wesley Ondieki was identified by police as the deceased. He allegedly stabbed his mother to death after she refused to give him money she had received from mourners who had come to offer condolences to the family following the death of his father.
During the incident, Ondieki also assaulted his sister, inflicting serious injuries upon her, before fleeing the scene.
The angry villagers beat him to death and lynched his body.
The remains of Ondieki are currently at the Tombe Hospital morgue whereas the mother’s body was transferred to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.
