Ten dead and two critically injured following a tragic collision between a matatu and a lorry in Mai Mahiu town.
The lorry, losing its brakes mere meters away from town, collided with a MUNA Sacco matatu from behind, tragically claiming the lives of nine individuals on the spot.
Naivasha OCPD Samuel Kirui further confirmed that another victim passed away en route to Kijabe hospital.
According to the police report, an incident occurred today at around 12:10 pm in the VIP area along the Maai Mahiu-Nairobi road. This incident resulted in the fatal injury of five female adults, three male adults, and one female juvenile. Additionally, three male adults and five female adults sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to Auckland Hospital.
The bodies of the deceased were transported to Umma Funeral Home, where they await identification and postmortem examination.
Investigations have since been launched to establish the cause of the accident.
