
Vioja Mahakamani actor Alphonse Makokha, accompanied by family and friends, gathered today to lay his beloved wife, Purity Wambui, to rest at Lang’ata Cemetery.
Wambui, who bravely battled stage 4 breast cancer, passed away on June 1, leaving behind a legacy of strength and love.
The day began with a somber gathering at Kenyatta National Hospital, where a mini service and viewing of the body took place at the hospital mortuary.
From there, guests made their way to Lang’ata Cemetery, arriving between 9:30 and 10:00 am for a solemn ceremony.
Praise, worship, and an opening prayer set the tone for the proceedings, followed by the reading of the eulogy at 10:30 am, where Wambui’s remarkable journey and impact on those around her were celebrated. Tributes and speeches from friends and family members highlighted her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family.
Makokha, in a heartfelt eulogy, expressed his deep love for his late wife, stating, “Nitakumiss sana dem yangu, sijui ntakua napiga story na nani ni kunoma! Rest in peace, my love” (I will miss you dearly, my love. I don’t know who I will share stories with now! Rest in peace, my love).
Wambui’s family shared fond memories of her boldness, feistiness, and selflessness, emphasizing her role as a fierce protector of her loved ones. They expressed gratitude to the community for their support during this challenging time, acknowledging the comfort found in the outpouring of prayers and kind words.
