Renowned gospel singer Jemimah Thiong’o, known for her hit song “Akisema Atakubariki,” has made an emotional appeal to the public for financial assistance to help cover her husband Francis Thiong’o’s mounting medical bills.
Francis, who has been hospitalized for nearly three months, underwent a medical procedure that unexpectedly led to serious complications, leaving him immobile.
Jemimah shared her family’s struggles during a heartfelt plea, revealing the financial burden they are facing as they strive to raise the remaining Sh3 million needed to settle Francis’s hospital expenses. She explained that her husband walked into the hospital for a minor procedure that unfortunately became a major health issue, resulting in his extended stay.
“My husband Francis Thiong’o walked into the hospital one day for a small procedure, and incidentally, it became a big issue. It left him immobile,” Jemimah recounted. “He has been in the hospital for close to three months now.”
The family has already held two fundraisers, gathering support from friends and well-wishers, but they still face a significant deficit.
“We have had two fundraisers from family and friends, raising 2.7 million shillings. However, we now have a deficit of 3 million shillings. We are appealing to you to stand with us and help raise the money needed so that we can clear the bill and get him home.”
Jemimah also extended her heartfelt thanks to those who have supported them during this challenging time, including friends, church communities, and prayer groups.
Financial contributions to assist the Thiong’o family can be made through PayBill number 8056821, with the contributor’s name as the account name.
