Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, the spouse of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has reaffirmed her commitment to advocating for the boychild in Kenya, despite the government’s recent decision to scrap budget allocations for her office.
Speaking during a church service in Nyeri on Sunday, Pastor Dorcas emphasized that her passion for supporting boys and young men will not be deterred by the lack of official funding.
“The nation has said that they do not want the Second Lady to have any budget, and it is okay. But I will not stop working with the boychild. That is a passion and a vision I have for the boychild, and I cannot stop because I even started before I was in the office. I believe that you and I can make it happen.”
She continued to call on the church and the community to support these young individuals, urging them to embrace and rehabilitate those battling addiction to transform them into productive members of society.
“The work of supporting the boychild and addressing issues such as drug abuse is a mission that goes beyond any budget or office. It is about making a difference in the lives of young men who are the future leaders of our society.”
“I started this mission even before my husband was in office, and I will continue with or without a budget. It’s a vision that I am dedicated to, and I believe we can make significant progress together,” she added.
