K24 journalist Wanjeri Kariuki sustained a gunshot wound on Tuesday while covering the ongoing anti-government protests in Nakuru.
The incident occurred as Ms. Kariuki was standing outside a local bank’s premises, when a bullet struck her on the thigh.
Colleagues from the media swiftly rushed Ms. Kariuki to Valley Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and it is yet to be determined whether the shot was fired by security forces or other individuals involved in the protests.
