In a shocking incident in the Kwangewa area of Machakos County, a 16-year-old boy has been arrested on charges of killing his 55-year-old grandfather and injuring his uncle. The teenager, currently detained at Ithanga police station, allegedly attacked his grandfather with a blunt object, resulting in the elder man’s death.
The violent episode didn’t end there; the boy also targeted his uncle with the same blunt instrument, causing significant injuries. Following the assault, the teenager attempted to set their house on fire, escalating the severity of the situation.
After committing these acts, the boy fled the scene in a state of undress. He was eventually apprehended at the Kwangewa shopping center by local residents who then handed him over to the authorities. Kakuzi sub-county police commander Thomas Mong’are provided details of the case to the media on Wednesday morning. He confirmed the arrest and reported that the body of the deceased had been transported to Ndithini Mission Hospital mortuary for an autopsy. The injured uncle is receiving medical treatment, though his condition has not been disclosed.
