On Friday, President William Ruto announced the reappointment of eleven Cabinet Secretary nominees, including six former ministers who were previously dismissed.
The re-nominated Cabinet Secretaries include:
- Prof. Kithure Kindiki (Interior)
- Alice Wahome (Lands)
- Soipan Tuya (Environment)
- Davis Chirchir (Transport)
- Aden Duale (Defence)
- Rebecca Miano as Attorney General
Several of the reappointed officials publicly expressed their gratitude.
Aden Duale, nominated for the Ministry of Defence, took to X to thank President Ruto.
“I extend my deepest gratitude to H.E President @WilliamsRuto for nominating me as Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Defence. This nomination reflects the President’s and the Kenyan people’s profound trust and confidence in my ability to advance our nation’s agenda and contribute to its greatness,” Duale said.
Similarly, Alice Wahome, reappointed to the Ministry of Lands, expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to serve again.
“I am deeply honoured and profoundly grateful for the trust and confidence you have placed in me. I confirm my commitment to serve Kenyans with dedication and within the rule of law,” Wahome stated.
Soipan Tuya, nominated for the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry, also thanked President Ruto.
“I take this opportunity to thank H.E. The President of the Republic of Kenya, @WilliamsRuto for granting me a second chance to serve our country. I wholly commit to serve with dedication, upon confirmation,” Tuya said.
