In response to the internal turmoil within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Secretary-General Cleophas Malala has firmly denied allegations of his resignation and any involvement in undermining the party’s objectives.
In a statement posted on X, Malala dismissed the claims as mere propaganda and assured UDA members of his continued leadership.
“Ignore propaganda. The party is stable and focused on helping President @WilliamsRuto achieve his agenda for Kenya. Chama iko Imara,” Malala declared.
Malala’s rebuttal comes in the wake of a recent push by a faction of UDA members led by Lawyer Joe Khalende, who have accused him of sabotaging the party’s efforts and supporting the TAWE movement, which they claim contradicts UDA’s policies.
The faction has called for Malala’s removal and announced Khalende as the new acting Secretary-General, asserting that Malala has failed in his duties and has joined the opposition.
Despite Khalende’s claims and the alleged internal strife, Malala maintains that UDA remains united and dedicated to its goals.
The situation remains fluid as both factions prepare to navigate the implications of their respective positions and the impact on UDA’s role in the upcoming political developments.
