Moses Kuria Adopts Gachagua, Kindiki’s Campaign Formula

Moses Kuria Adopts Gachagua and Kindiki’s Door-to-Door Campaign Strategy

Former Cabinet Secretary and Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) Party leader Moses Kuria has now taken up a campaign style similar to the one used by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Kithure Kindiki — a personal, door-to-door approach that focuses on direct interaction with residents.

Kuria embraced this style on November 22, 2025, during his visit to Ishiara in Mbeere North, where he spent time engaging with locals.

Dressed in the official CCK party colours, he joined residents at a small food outlet and shared a cup of tea with them, creating a relaxed setting for conversations and voter engagement.

The former Cabinet Secretary was in the area campaigning for Ireri Mbui, the CCK candidate eyeing the Mbeere North parliamentary seat.

Kuria’s strategy mirrors a growing trend among political leaders in the region, as different parties intensify their efforts ahead of the November 27, 2025 by-elections.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who leads the DCP Party, has also been using a similar grassroots tactic.

He has been holding early-morning walks across Mbeere, greeting residents at their homes and workplaces and sharing tea as a way to connect personally while seeking support for United Opposition candidate Newton Karish. This hands-on style is aimed at building rapport and showing closeness to the community.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and other UDA leaders have equally adopted this people-focused approach. Kindiki frequently tours Mbeere North, meeting residents in small groups and joining them for tea sessions. His main goal is to rally voter support for the UDA candidate, Leo wa Muthende.

With three major political camps — CCK, DCP, and UDA — all deploying similar grassroots tactics, the race in Mbeere North has become increasingly competitive.

Each team is working hard to win voters by demonstrating presence, humility, and personal engagement as the by-election date draws nearer.
