Residents of Wajir County have made it clear that they are opposed to the County Finance Bill 2024.

They have voiced strong concerns about the potential impact of the bill, warning that it could place an undue financial burden on them.

The residents argue that the proposed bill would increase taxes and fees, making it more difficult for them to afford essential services and goods.

They are particularly worried that the bill does not adequately consider the economic challenges faced by the majority of the population, who are already struggling with high costs of living.

The community’s leaders and representatives have expressed that they expect their Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to represent their interests faithfully.

They have urged the MCAs to reject the bill and have not hesitated to state that there will be serious consequences for those who vote in favor of it.

According to the residents, supporting the bill would be seen as a betrayal of the people’s trust and could result in protests and other forms of public dissent.

Moreover, the residents have emphasized that the county government should prioritize the well-being of its citizens by exploring alternative ways to raise revenue without imposing additional financial burdens.

They believe that the government should focus on creating opportunities for economic growth and improving public services, rather than increasing taxes.

The residents have called for transparency and accountability from their elected leaders, insisting that any decisions made should be in the best interest of the people.

In conclusion, the Wajir residents have shown a united front against the proposed County Finance Bill 2024.

They have made it clear that they expect their MCAs to listen to their concerns and act accordingly.

As the debate over the bill continues, all eyes will be on the county assembly to see whether the voices of the people will be heard and respected.
