Earlier today, a tragic accident occurred near the Kibingoti trading center on the Sagana-Karatina road in Kirinyaga County, where a military truck lost control and plunged into a ditch.

The incident left 22 soldiers injured, prompting a swift emergency response from local authorities and medical personnel.

Witnesses at the scene reported that the truck appeared to have developed a mechanical problem just before the driver lost control.

The vehicle veered off the road and rolled into the ditch, causing significant injuries to the soldiers on board.

Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, transporting the injured soldiers to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Medical staff are working tirelessly to provide the necessary care, with some of the soldiers reportedly in critical condition.

The road was temporarily closed to allow for rescue operations and to clear the wreckage, causing a traffic buildup in the area.

Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Meanwhile, the families of the injured soldiers have been notified, and the public is urged to exercise caution when driving along the Sagana-Karatina road, especially during this rainy season when roads can be particularly slippery.

This incident highlights the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and adherence to safety protocols to prevent such tragic accidents.

The government and military officials have assured the public that they are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of their personnel and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
