Goons recently disrupted a charity event organized by Kisii County Woman Representative Doris Aburi, popularly known as Donya Toto, at Nyakeyo DEB Special School in Moticho Ward,
South Mugirango. The incident occurred during an event aimed at supporting people with disabilities.
The attackers, believed to be politically motivated, caused chaos that led to panic and disrupted the activities, leaving those in attendance shocked.
This is not the first time Donya has faced such disruptions. In previous instances, her events have also been targeted, leading to concerns about rising goonism in Kisii.
She has criticized the involvement of hired youth in these attacks, attributing them to local political rivalries.
Such incidents highlight the increasing tension in the region, where leaders and events are frequently disrupted by hired mobs, creating an environment of fear and intimidation.
Donya, after the disruption, called on security agencies to take decisive action against those orchestrating these violent interruptions.
Despite the challenges, she remains determined to continue her advocacy for vulnerable groups in Kisii.
