Protests have erupted in Wajir County following the mysterious disappearance of Dela Ward MCA, Hon. Yussuf Hussein, on September 13, 2024. According to reports, Hussein was abducted by armed men while traveling in a taxi on Enterprise Road in Nairobi.
The abduction occurred at night, with witnesses stating that two Toyota Prado vehicles blocked the taxi before the men forcibly removed the MCA. The driver of the taxi later reported the incident to the authorities
In response, angry youth in Wajir blocked key roads, disrupting businesses as they demanded answers regarding Hussein’s whereabouts.
The protests reflect growing frustration over the perceived lack of action from the authorities to locate the missing MCA.
His family has also taken legal steps, filing a case in court to compel the government to produce Hussein and shed light on the abduction.
The incident has heightened tensions in the area, as residents continue to express concerns about their safety and the political implications of such high-profile abductions.
As of now, Hussein has been found unconscious in Migori and transferred to a hospital for further treatment(
