A man in Gatundu North has left the community in shock after reportedly cutting off his testicles using a blunt machete. The bizarre incident is said to have occurred in a moment of distress.

His wife, upon discovering him in a pool of blood, immediately rushed him to Esther Memorial Hospital in Maili Sita for emergency care.

He was later referred to Nakuru County Referral Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

Authorities from the Kiugoine Police Station visited the scene to investigate the matter, which has been described as both tragic and troubling.

Mental health experts have pointed out that such extreme actions could be linked to rising cases of depression and economic stress in Kenya.

Over the years, incidents of self-harm have highlighted a growing need for mental health interventions across the country.

Local authorities and health professionals emphasize the importance of addressing underlying issues such as poverty, unemployment, and emotional trauma, which may lead individuals to act in desperation.

This incident underscores the urgency of mental health awareness and support systems.

Community leaders and public health organizations are being urged to prioritize mental health education and provide accessible resources to help individuals cope with life challenges constructively.

Neighbors and family members have expressed shock, urging others to look out for signs of distress in their loved ones and seek timely help.
