Breaking News: Senator Boni Khalwale’s Son Has Been Involved in A Horrific Road Crash

Senator Boni Khalwale has every reason to be grateful after his son, Tigana Khalwale, survived a serious road accident on Tuesday, February 4.

This is not the first time the senator’s family has faced such a terrifying ordeal, as his children had previously been involved in another accident and lived to tell the story.

In a heartfelt Facebook post shared on Wednesday night, the Kakamega senator revealed that his son was involved in a terrible crash at Ainabkoi, along the busy Eldoret-Nakuru Highway.

Images from the accident scene show the car’s front section completely destroyed. The impact was concentrated on the left side, where the front of the vehicle was extensively damaged, with the bumper nearly detached and the windscreen shattered.

The left side mirror was also badly damaged. The bonnet bore deep dents, appearing bent inwards due to the force of the crash. Even the front section of the car’s roof was affected, with parts of it caved in near the windscreen.

According to reports, the left-side airbag deployed upon impact, though it remains unclear whether the driver’s airbag also activated.

Despite the shocking state of the wreckage, Senator Khalwale confirmed that his son miraculously walked away from the accident without a single scratch. Expressing his gratitude, he wrote, “He came out of this accident unharmed! God is good!”

A History of Near Misses

This is not the first time Khalwale’s family has experienced such a close call. In August 2018, four of his children survived a road accident after their vehicle veered off the road and landed in a ditch in Kaimosi, Kakamega County.

At the time, Khalwale expressed deep gratitude, saying, “My wives and I thank God for saving our four children in this afternoon’s accident at Kaimosi. Kudos to my brave son Tigana for managing to control the car.”

A Mix of Relief and Grief

While the senator is relieved that his son survived the crash, his joy is dampened by a personal tragedy. Just a day before his son’s accident, Khalwale lost his nephew in a tragic incident at a gold mine in Kakamega County.

The collapse happened on Monday evening, February 3, at the Tumaini gold mine in Museno Village, Shinyalu Constituency. At least three miners were confirmed dead, while several others were rescued in an intense operation.

Authorities reported that 22 miners were trapped when the mine caved in. By the time rescue efforts concluded, 19 had been saved, while three were feared dead. Among those who perished was Khalwale’s nephew, Sasita Chui.

The senator rushed to the scene to oversee the rescue efforts and later shared his sorrow, saying, “I am currently at Machilisi Village in Shinyalu Constituency, where a gold mine collapsed last night, trapping 22 men. So far, 19 have been rescued, but three are feared dead, including my nephew, Sasita Chui.”

While the senator counts his blessings for his son’s miraculous survival, he is also mourning the painful loss of a close family member.
