KDF Officer Stabbed to Death in Confrontation Outside Likoni Hospital
Authorities have launched a manhunt for two suspects accused of fatally stabbing a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier during a confrontation outside a hospital in Likoni, Mombasa County.
The incident occurred on Thursday night, leaving the officer dead while his attackers fled the scene.
The victim, identified as Dennis Wesonga from the Kenya Navy in Mtongwe, had visited the private hospital alongside friends to see a female patient admitted there.
However, an argument broke out among them, escalating into a heated exchange.
Hospital security intervened and asked them to leave the premises due to the commotion. Unfortunately, the confrontation continued outside the hospital, turning into a physical fight.
Witnesses and police reports indicate that during the altercation, Wesonga was stabbed in the stomach.
After the attack, the suspects fled the scene, leaving Wesonga critically injured. Bystanders and friends rushed him to Likoni Hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have confirmed that they have identified the two suspects and are actively pursuing them. However, the motive behind the attack remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
Security officers are urging anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts to come forward as efforts to bring them to justice continue.
