Angry client stormed Marcus PGA Agency to demand for his money back after he was allegedly conned. He ended up destroying Marcus’ laptop after he told him, “fanya chenye unataka”

a dramatic incident unfolded at PGA Manpower Agency, a recruitment firm in Nairobi, when a frustrated job seeker stormed into their offices demanding a refund.

The individual had allegedly been defrauded by the agency after paying a substantial amount in hopes of securing employment abroad.

Upon confronting Marcus, an employee of the agency, and requesting his money back, Marcus dismissively retorted, “Fanya vile unataka” (do whatever you want). In a fit of rage, the aggrieved client seized Marcus’s laptop and smashed it, leaving staff members in shock.

This incident is not isolated; similar occurrences have been reported where victims of alleged scams resort to drastic measures to express their frustration.

For instance, in September 2024, victims of a purported job scam stormed the offices of Vintmark Agency in Nairobi, demanding refunds after being deceived into paying large sums for overseas job opportunities that never materialized.

The chaotic scene at Kenindia House highlighted the desperation and anger of those who felt betrayed by the agency’s false promises.

Such incidents underscore the growing issue of fraudulent schemes targeting vulnerable individuals seeking better opportunities.

In some cases, victims have taken the law into their own hands, leading to confrontations and property damage.

For example, in January 2023, clients who felt defrauded by Oxford International Group assaulted senior executives and vandalized properties over delayed refunds.

The situation escalated to the point where the Chief Executive Officer was attacked, and official properties were destroyed.

These events highlight the importance of due diligence when engaging with agencies promising lucrative opportunities.

Authorities advise individuals to verify the legitimacy of such organizations and report any suspicious activities to prevent falling victim to scams.

Moreover, agencies are urged to maintain transparent communication with clients to build trust and avoid misunderstandings that could lead to such confrontations.

In the case of the PGA Manpower Agency incident, the dramatic reaction of the aggrieved client serves as a stark reminder of the emotional and financial toll that fraudulent schemes can have on individuals.

It also emphasizes the need for stricter regulations and oversight in the recruitment industry to protect job seekers from exploitation.

As these incidents continue to surface, they shed light on the broader issue of fraud and the lengths to which victims may go to seek justice.

It is crucial for both individuals and authorities to remain vigilant and proactive in combating such fraudulent activities to ensure the safety and well-being of all parties involved.
