The officer, who had been stationed in Marsabit, visited his home on Sunday, April 6, when the shocking tragedy unfolded.
The officer has been identified as Constable David Okebe Goga, attached to the Marsabit Police Station.
Authorities confirmed they found a detailed suicide note at the scene, which gave disturbing instructions, including how both he and the children should be buried.
According to both the police and local residents, the children who lost their lives included two of his own and one who reportedly belonged to his in-law.
The young victims were a six-year-old boy, a five-year-old girl, and another five-year-old boy from his extended family.
