UDA Politician Julius Kipruto Keter Dies
Julius Kipruto Keter, the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Chemundu Ward, has passed away, leaving many in Nandi County in deep sorrow.
Keter, who was affiliated with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), was serving his first term in office and had already made a strong name for himself due to his close relationship with the grassroots and his dedication to local development.
Throughout his time in office, Keter actively pushed for progress in key sectors such as education, health, and infrastructure. His efforts to uplift his community earned him widespread popularity and respect across the county.
He was known for being approachable, humble, and deeply focused on improving the lives of the people he represented.
Nandi Governor Stephen Sang expressed heartfelt condolences following the news of Keter’s death. Mourning the MCA, Sang described him as a hardworking leader and a true servant of the people.
He noted that Keter held the position of Majority Whip in the Nandi County Assembly and praised his significant role in leadership.
“It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that I have received the news of the untimely passing of Hon. Julius Kipruto, Member of County Assembly for Chemundu/Kapng’etuny Ward and our Majority Whip,” Governor Sang said.
The Governor remembered Keter not only as a trusted colleague but also as a personal friend. He highlighted Keter’s humility, calm nature, and thoughtful leadership, all of which contributed to his ability to unite and serve the people.
“Hon. Kipruto was not just a colleague, but a friend and a true servant of the people. His unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of his constituents, his humility, and his calm, thoughtful leadership will be deeply missed.
He stood firm in advocating for development and was a strong voice in the County Assembly of Nandi,” Sang added.
Governor Sang extended his deepest sympathies to Keter’s family, fellow leaders in the county, and the entire Chemundu/Kapng’etuny Ward.
The news of his passing has led to an outpouring of grief from both residents and leaders across the region, who described Keter as a visionary and grounded leader whose positive impact will not be forgotten.
This tragic news comes just weeks after the death of another MCA, Hon. Simon Mumeita Saitoti of Purko Ward in Kajiado County. Saitoti, aged 42, died on March 7 while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital.
Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku confirmed that Saitoti had been admitted on February 26 and was scheduled for surgery. Sadly, he remained in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) until he passed away.
“I have received in utter shock the sudden demise of Purko Ward MCA, Hon. Simon Saitoti, at a Nairobi hospital where he was undergoing treatment after a short illness,” Governor Ole Lenku stated.
Both Keter and Saitoti leave behind legacies of leadership, compassion, and commitment to public service, and their deaths have deeply shaken the communities they served.
