ODM MP Charles Were Shot Dead in Nairobi
Kasipul Member of Parliament (MP), Charles Were, has tragically lost his life after being shot by suspected criminals in Nairobi.
Eyewitnesses say the incident occurred on Wednesday evening near the City Mortuary roundabout, where the MP was attacked by gunmen who had reportedly been following him for some time.
According to the reports, two armed men on a motorbike are believed to have carried out the attack. They approached the lawmaker and opened fire before quickly escaping the scene.
The shooting, which happened at around 7:00 pm, was described as sudden and targeted. One of the gunmen is said to have gotten off the motorbike, walked up to the MP, and shot him at close range, leaving him dead on the spot.
The fatal incident has shocked many Kenyans, especially in Homa Bay County, where the MP represented the Kasipul constituency.
Authorities have launched investigations as questions grow around the motive behind the attack and the identity of the killers.
