Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome, Attorney General Dorcas Oduor, and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Renson Igonga have announced new appointments within their respective departments, as detailed in the latest government gazette notice dated June 13, 2025.

CS Alice Wahome’s Appointments in Lands Department

CS Wahome, who oversees the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, has named Annet Sision Lempee as a board member of the Kajiado West Land Control Board. Lempee’s term will run for a period of three years.

The Land Control Board plays a critical role in overseeing and approving land transactions, including land transfers and requests for consent to change ownership or usage of land.

In the same notice, Wahome also appointed William Ngochila Ole Kakimon, the Deputy County Commissioner, to serve as the chairperson of the Elangata-Waus Land Control Board in Kajiado West.

Additionally, she named the area’s administration officer to serve as the board secretary and designated Ruto Joseph, the Sub-County Agricultural Officer, as one of the board members.

Other individuals selected to serve as members of the board include:

  • Joel Kisau Sayianka
  • Kanjori Ole Singeen
  • Judith Ntimipili
  • Raphael Maraunta Kipas
  • Peter Lopejo
  • Kayie Tiampati
  • Janet Parori
  • Jeremia Mepukori Nairowua
  • Naisei Loibuluenkop

These twelve members, like the others, will serve on the board for a three-year term. Land Control Boards such as these are vital in managing local land matters and ensuring that land dealings are done transparently and lawfully.

Wahome stated, “In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Land Control Act, I appoint the individuals listed to serve as members of the Kajiado West Land Control Board for a three-year period.”

Attorney General Dorcas Oduor’s Appointments to the NCRC

In her capacity as Attorney General, Dorcas Oduor appointed two new members to the governing council of the National Crime Research Centre (NCRC): Samson Alosa and Capt. (Rtd.) Kenneth Kiptoo Boit. Both will serve on the council for three years, beginning June 13, 2025.

The NCRC is tasked with researching criminal activity in Kenya, identifying root causes of crime, and recommending practical solutions to law enforcement agencies and policy makers. Their research helps in shaping national crime prevention strategies and policies.

The AG said, “It is hereby notified for the general public that under Section 6(2)(i) of the National Crime Research Centre Act of 1997, I appoint Alosa and Boit as members of the council for a term of three years.”

DPP Renson Igonga’s Appointments to the Prosecution Department

In another significant move, Director of Public Prosecutions Renson Igonga announced the appointment of three new scene of crime officers: Antonette Jeptoo Korir, Fredrick Mosoti Makori, and Wamuyu Festus Mwai.

According to the DPP, these officers will be responsible for collecting and preparing photographic evidence from crime scenes to support criminal investigations and prosecutions.

Their work will play a critical role in ensuring that credible visual evidence is available in courtrooms during legal proceedings.

These appointments are part of efforts to strengthen the handling of criminal cases and improve the quality of evidence presented in court.

These recent appointments reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public service through the deployment of qualified individuals across key departments.
