Justin Muturi Dismisses Claims of Meeting Ruto’s Allies

Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has strongly denied reports that he met people allegedly sent by President William Ruto to negotiate a political reunion.

His response came just hours after the President revealed he has been in talks with opposition leaders to build national consensus and push his agenda forward.

In a statement released on Sunday, October 12, Muturi dismissed the claims as pure fabrication. He referred to a viral article that falsely claimed he had confirmed holding discussions with Ruto’s close associates.

Muturi insisted he has not met, contacted, or been approached by anyone acting on behalf of the Head of State.

Calling the claims “fake news,” he accused those spreading the story of trying to stir trouble within the opposition camp.

“This is fake news. Let it be clear, I have never met, sent, nor received any emissaries from President William Ruto or anyone acting on his behalf,” he said.

“This propaganda being circulated is a desperate attempt to push a false narrative and sow division. Kenyans deserve honesty, not fabricated headlines from rumour peddlers,” he added.

The misleading post claimed that Ruto had been sending senior government officials—among them Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku—who supposedly assured Muturi that the President would offer financial incentives if he agreed to join Kenya Kwanza.

Muturi made it clear that he has no intention of switching political sides. He emphasized that he remains committed to the opposition and would not betray the trust citizens have placed in him.

His denial comes shortly after President Ruto announced that he is determined to unite leaders from across the country behind his administration’s agenda. Speaking during a church service in Nairobi on Sunday, Ruto said he has been personally meeting different leaders to promote his economic transformation strategy.

So far, the President has held talks with former President Uhuru Kenyatta, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and Gideon Moi. He also noted that he has engaged with about 80 percent of sitting Members of Parliament.

“I have already engaged in discussion with many leaders, including 80 per cent of Parliament, to explain to them how we are going to move this country from a third-world country to a first-world country,” Ruto said.

“I will continue engaging with more leaders in this country, because I believe when we unite, the favour of God will be upon us,” he added.

Meanwhile, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale claimed on Sunday that Ruto is also trying to court Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, even though Kalonzo has publicly stated that he has no plans to join the government.

There are also reports that Ruto is considering creating two Deputy Prime Cabinet Secretary positions under Musalia Mudavadi, following KANU’s recent involvement in the broader government setup.

According to the claims, one of the posts would be reserved for Gideon Moi or a nominee of his choosing, while the other could go to a leader from the Coast region.
