Court Cancels Recruitment of 10,000 Police Officers as Senator Joe Nyutu Dares UDA to Expel Him
Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu has declared that he will not quit the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) despite being closely associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. The outspoken legislator boldly challenged the party to expel him if they were unhappy with his stance.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Thursday, October 30, Nyutu firmly stated that he is in no hurry to leave UDA and will only do so on his own terms. He insisted that his membership in the ruling party is his personal choice and no one can push him out unless he decides to walk away himself.
“If UDA is not comfortable with Joe Nyutu being one of their members in Murang’a, let them remove me from their register,” he said confidently. “I challenge Nyando MP Jared Okello and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei to inform our party leader, President William Ruto, to expel me. We are waiting,” Nyutu said defiantly.
The senator further explained that he would only exit the party when he personally chooses to, stressing that no one can dictate his political direction. “I will leave UDA when I feel it is the right time.
They want me to leave sooner, but that’s their problem. Let them tell the President to strike me off the list if they so wish. I will be glad.
I have already been removed as the Chair of the Education Committee in the Senate, yet I am still standing strong,” he remarked.
Nyutu went on to accuse President Ruto of plotting to take control of the opposition Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, alleging that the Head of State intends to use it as part of his political strategy ahead of the next general election.
According to Nyutu, Ruto’s plan is to use ODM as a vehicle for his re-election bid, describing the move as a sign of political desperation. “President William Ruto is keen on inheriting or using ODM for his re-election.
He seems desperate, and I wouldn’t be shocked if one day he decides to merge his camp with ODM,” the senator stated.
Nyutu further claimed that Ruto’s alleged interest in ODM stems from weaknesses within his own UDA party, which he believes lacks strong unity and loyalty. “The reason President Ruto is eyeing ODM is that he did not truly build or commit to UDA from the start.
During the last election, he wasn’t officially registered as a UDA member. He believed he was powerful enough to manage without solid party structures or loyal members,” Nyutu said.
He added that Ruto’s current political maneuvers reveal his growing unease and that his attempt to seek alliances with ODM signals internal cracks within UDA.
“He underestimated the importance of party unity, sidelined loyal members, and is now facing resistance. That’s why he is desperately seeking new partnerships, even from former rivals,” Nyutu concluded.
The senator’s bold remarks have reignited debates within the ruling coalition, exposing the growing rifts and power struggles among leaders ahead of the next political season.
