President Ruto Pledges Ksh100 Million to Africa Inland Church in Marsabit
President William Ruto has committed to donating Ksh100 million to the Africa Inland Church (AIC) to support ongoing projects within the church.
Speaking during a church service at AIC Loglogo in Marsabit County on Sunday, November 16, the President said the funds will be directed toward “ongoing works” in the church, particularly in Ileret, Marsabit County.
“I recently visited some people in Ileret, and I noticed there is a lot of development work happening there. Since I am both a member and a beneficiary of this church, I will allocate Ksh100 million to support you.
I expect you to give me a detailed list of what the money will be used for. Do you understand me, bishop?” Ruto asked the church leadership.
The funds will specifically support projects in Ileret, with the President instructing the heads of the AIC in Marsabit to send him a summary detailing how the money will be utilized.
Ruto also promised to personally take charge of completing the construction of AIC Loglogo, which currently requires Ksh17 million to finish.
“I have been informed about the ongoing church construction here. I even sent people to help raise funds through a harambee, but I have been told the project is still incomplete and that you are short of Ksh17 million.
I have already instructed the church leadership that we will ensure the church is finished,” the President said.
Ruto added that local leaders have been directed to identify a contractor to complete the project. “The church will be finished within the next 2-3 months,” he assured.
The President emphasized that donations to the church are crucial for sustaining the work of God, especially at a time when churches in Kenya and across Africa are expected to support themselves financially.
“This donation will boost the momentum of the incredible work that has been going on for the past 60 years. People traveled from far and wide to establish these churches, and now it is our responsibility to continue and expand this work,” he said.
This announcement follows a similar donation made two weeks earlier, when Ruto contributed Ksh50 million to the African Divine Church Service for the construction of their headquarters in Vihiga County.
On Sunday, November 2, Ruto said that he had already sent the funds, which will supplement the Ksh20 million raised by church members to complete the Ksh80 million project.
The President noted that the church leadership had explained that the new facility will include various amenities, such as conference halls, offices, and other essential facilities.
Ruto further stated that the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, and other local leaders are expected to contribute the remaining Ksh10 million to ensure the project is completed on time.
“This collaborative effort will ensure the church is completed successfully and ready to serve the community as planned,” Ruto concluded.
