WhatsApp to Roll Out New Highly Requested Feature for Users
WhatsApp is finally preparing to introduce a major upgrade that many users have been asking for — the ability to use multiple WhatsApp accounts on a single phone. This long-awaited feature is slowly being released to selected iOS beta testers, with reports confirming that it is already visible on versions 25.34.10.72 and 25.19.20.74.
The feature will be added directly inside the Account List section in the app’s settings. WhatsApp is also creating a shortcut next to the QR code area, making it easier for users to either link an existing account or create an entirely new one from the same device.
Although managing several accounts on one phone may sound complicated, WhatsApp has made the process simple by using QR code authentication.
Once an account is added, it will operate fully on its own. Each profile will have separate chat histories, privacy settings, backups, media download preferences, and security controls, ensuring that the accounts remain fully independent and nothing gets mixed up.
Notifications will also remain active across all linked accounts. This means users will continue receiving alerts for every profile even when only one account is currently open, helping them stay updated without switching back and forth repeatedly.
Switching between accounts has been designed to be smooth and quick. Users will have several options, including selecting a profile from the Account List or using simple gestures. WhatsApp has introduced a long-press shortcut on the settings tab, as well as a double-tap gesture for instant account switching.
Security has always been a major concern when dealing with multiple profiles on the same device. To address this, WhatsApp has confirmed that every linked account will be protected with App Lock, which supports features like Face ID and password safeguards.
Any time a user shifts from one account to another, they will need to re-authenticate to ensure privacy and prevent unauthorized access.
This upcoming update comes shortly after WhatsApp expanded its services in the EU, where users can now integrate chats from other messaging apps directly into WhatsApp — a move driven by new digital regulations.
At the same time, the company has been tightening its security framework after reports surfaced of a vulnerability that may have leaked up to 3.5 billion phone numbers. This new multi-account feature is seen as part of WhatsApp’s broader strategy to enhance user safety and meet international privacy standards.
Entrepreneurs and business owners stand to gain the most from this improvement. With the ability to keep work-related conversations separate from personal chats on the same smartphone, managing communication will become much easier and more organized.
In addition to multi-account support, WhatsApp has also been working on another upcoming tool known as the Guest Chat feature, expected to launch once approved.
As of August 2025, early reports show that this feature will allow WhatsApp users to chat with people who do not have the app installed.
According to details discovered by WABetaInfo in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android, Guest Chat is part of Meta’s plan to align WhatsApp with new EU regulations.
Through this feature, users will send a special invitation link that lets non-users join a one-on-one conversation without registering an account or downloading WhatsApp. This could significantly expand the platform’s reach and make communication even more accessible.
Overall, these upcoming updates show WhatsApp’s commitment to improving user experience, strengthening privacy, and adapting to global regulatory demands — while making everyday communication smoother for millions of people.
