Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has issued a strong warning to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, saying he is ready to reveal confidential information he allegedly gathered during his time as Interior Cabinet Secretary.
Kindiki made these remarks while campaigning for UDA’s Mbeere North by-election candidate, Leonard Muthende, on November 23, 2025, at Kivue in Mbeere North.
While addressing residents, Kindiki accused Gachagua of disrespecting him by referring to him as merely President William Ruto’s employee instead of acknowledging his constitutional position as the Deputy President. He said such remarks were meant to belittle his role and undermine his leadership.
Kindiki warned that if Gachagua continues attacking him, he will publicly expose details that he learned during his tenure at the Interior Ministry.
He insisted that he is not intimidated by Gachagua’s comments and is ready to reveal everything if the confrontation continues.
“Gachagua, leave me alone! I will shame you. I am not someone you can just toy around with. You have threatened and intimidated many people, but your time is up,” Kindiki said firmly. He accused Gachagua of bullying leaders from the Mount Kenya region and using fear to control local politics.
The Deputy President also compared his political and professional journey with that of Gachagua, claiming that the former DP does not match his achievements.
Kindiki reminded the crowd that Gachagua served only one term as a Member of Parliament and did not even rise to chair a single parliamentary committee. He emphasized that during the same period, he himself was serving as the Senate Majority Leader.
Kindiki went further, alleging that Gachagua pushed himself into the Deputy President position in 2022 by creating pressure within the UDA party. He claimed Gachagua was behind the “No Rigathi, No Ruto” demonstrations that were aimed at forcing President Ruto to choose him as the running mate.
He also criticized Gachagua’s style of politics, saying it does not reflect the values of respected leaders from the Mount Kenya region. According to Kindiki, Gachagua has embraced extreme, confrontational politics that do not help the country move forward.
As he concluded his speech, Kindiki urged residents to maintain peace and unity ahead of the November 27, 2025, Mbeere North by-election. He encouraged political players to focus on issue-based campaigns rather than threats and personal attacks.
