Thika MP Flees Like a Burukenge in her Thika Home town After Ground Turned Hostile, Watch

Thika MP Faces Angry Crowd in Her Hometown

Residents of Thika Town turned on their local MP, Alice Wambui Ng’ang’a, during a recent public appearance. Videos circulating on social media show her being heckled, with some locals chanting “WANTAM”, a slogan used to demand accountability from leaders and signal dissatisfaction.

The incident highlights growing political tension in Kiambu County, where Ng’ang’a has an ongoing rivalry with Governor Kimani Wamatangi. Analysts say this reflects a power struggle ahead of the 2027 elections, with both leaders trying to consolidate support among residents.

While social media shows Ng’ang’a facing vocal opposition, there is no official report confirming that she fled the scene. Still, the chants and angry crowd signal strong discontent among some Thika residents.

The “WANTAM” slogan has been used widely in recent protests to push out leaders perceived as underperforming. In this case, it appears to be part of the broader political battle in Kiambu, where rival factions within the ruling party are vying for dominance.

This event underscores how local politics in Kenya’s key counties can be heated and unpredictable, and how social media continues to amplify political expressions.
