Uasin Gishu county: A no-nonsense Catholic cleric could not condone politics at some point in a funeral event in Kesses on Friday, June 21.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi was a casualty of the priest’s sternness. Sudi was among the leaders joining mourners in the send-off of Mzee David Kogo, father of Rivertex managing director Thomas Kipkurgat.
The MP got the chance to address the mourners, but his attempt to go on a political tangent failed as the preacher was too quick to object.
“Please finish, you are getting into politics. Please finish, this is church and you are trying politics, we won’t allow politics here,” the cleric declared.
He challenged the MP to preach the gospel for once instead of full-time politicking.
