An elated grandmother invaded the pitch to celebrate her grandson’s goal during the secondary school games in Trans Nzoia County, Cherangany Sub County, Kipsaina Zone.

The granny named Beatrice Shem was celebrating 17-year-old Linus from Kapsara Secondary School.

What took the match into penalties?

Her joy was uncontainable when the teen scored his penalty kick during the shootout after a tightly contested match that ended 1-1.

The proud grandmother won the hearts of Kapsara Football fans after her magical celebration that set the field ablaze.

Linus had expertly placed the ball into the back of the net, sparking jubilant celebrations from his teammates and fans.

Overcome with emotion, the elderly woman stormed the pitch, dodging security personnel in her determined sprint.

Who won the match between Kapsara and Kiriita?

The crowd watched in awe and amusement as she reached her grandson, enveloping him in a heartfelt hug.

It was a touching moment met with cheers and applause from spectators, players, and officials alike.

Kaguai, a spectator from the venue, told TUKO.co.ke that despite the thunderous celebration, Kiriita Secondary beat Kapsara 4-3 on post-match penalties.

“The good news is that the attacking midfielder was declared the man of the match for all their matches played,” he said.

“I had to show him how proud I am,” she said, tears of joy streaming down her face.
