Thousands of young Kenyans are expected to gather at Uhuru Park this Sunday for the Shujaaz Memorial Concert, a significant event dedicated to honoring the lives of those who died during protests.
In a poignant gesture, concert participants have placed crosses bearing the names of the victims as a symbol of remembrance and respect.
The memorial concert, organized by prominent activist Boniface Mwangi, aims to pay tribute to those who lost their lives advocating for justice and equality.
The event will start at noon and continue until 7 PM, featuring a diverse lineup of artists including Khaligraph Jones, Bien, Fena, Nameless, Octopizzo, Charisma, Juliani, and many others.
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, who has given his approval for the use of Uhuru Park, announced his attendance at the concert.
Before the main event, a prayer session will be held at All Saints Cathedral, followed by a flower distribution by a group of youth who will then march to Uhuru Park.
Authorities have stepped up security measures across Nairobi to ensure the safety of all attendees and to maintain order during the event.
The Shujaaz Memorial Concert is expected to attract not only Gen Z and Millennial participants but also individuals from various age groups who are committed to the cause of justice and equality.
